The First MS Company was chartered on May 12, 2002, by Act of Council, Jamestowne Society, in Williamsburg, Virginia. The twenty Charter Members who joined were from Tennessee, Mississippi and Louisiana.

An Organizational Meeting was held in Jackson, Mississippi, on October 20, 2001. In attendance were Company Members, and numerous guests.  Elections were held and the following officers were elected and installed:  Governor, Mrs. Henry A. Hudson; Lieutenant Governor, Mrs. Ethel Anepohl; Executive Secretary, Mrs. Robert G. Baird; Recording Secretary, Mrs. Augustus T. Evans; Treasurer, Mrs. Coleman A. Fox; Registrar, Mrs. Robert E. Ellis, Sr.; Historian, Mrs. W. Jack Cleere; Chaplain, Mrs. Lacey M. Haralson.

On May 4, 2002, the Charter Meeting was held in Jackson, Mississippi. Twenty members, prospective members and guests were in attendance. Mrs. Carolyn Farmer, of Houston, Texas, Councilor and Companies Committee Chairman, for Jamestowne Society was the guest speaker. Also attending were invited lineage society dignitaries:  The Past President General, Colonial Dames XVII Century, the Mississippi State President, Colonial Dames XVII Century, the President of the Mississippi Division of the National Society Magna Charta Dames and Barons, the President, Mississippi Society of the National Huguenot Society, and the President, Mississippi Chapter of the Daughters of Colonial Wars.


The Company Charter was presented to the membership by Mrs. Carolyn Farmer; and greetings from the National Jamestowne Governor, Charles D. McGuire, were read. All Company Charter Members were presented with Certificates. Virginia Commemorative Quarters were given to all attendees as keepsakes of the occasion. First Mississippi Company, Jamestowne Society, was proudly represented at the Jamestowne Rediscovery Celebration in 2007.
